DESCRIPTION: Preliminary Notice for Furnishing
Labor, Materials or Equipment.
SCOPE: State of Mississippi, Private Work.
TIME CONSTRAINTS: None. THIS NOTICE IS NOT REQUIRED
BY THIS STATE (See Important, below). Send any time after the
start of furnishing labor, materials or equipment.
However, if you are not paid in a prompt manner
you may want to issue a Stop Notice to compel immediate payment.

information. With a Stop Notice, after suit your lien will also
perfect from the date of the Stop Notice. This form will establish
notice to the owner of your claim if a stop notice is required.

Owner Letter, if used.

IMPORTANT!: This notice has no legal effect for
this state except as an advisory to the parties involved in
a job of your existance. For subcontractors and materialmen,
it can be used for the establishment of your lien rights.

Description: Notice of Right to Lien and Request
for Copy of Public Bond.
Scope: State of Mississippi, Public Work.
Time Constraints: None, unless your claim is on
a Highway Payment Bond and you are an equipment lessor or seller
(see below). Send anytime after the start of furnishing. There
is no preliminary notice requirement in this state. However,
you may have right to a Public Improvement lien on unpaid funds
or a claim on the project bond. Since that bond can be liened
it is handy to know the facts of the bond. If you do not have
a copy of the surety bond already, we strongly urge you to send
this form. If you do have the information, you are ready to
file your public lien claim.
Highway Payment Bonds: If your job is for the
Mississippi Highway Department, and you are an equipment lessor
or credit seller, to establish a right to make claim on the
Highway Payment Bond you must serve a Notice of Right to Lien
along with a copy of your contract and credit terms on the prime
contractor immediately after credit is granted.
